Monday’s Motivation: A tribute

Today, March 2nd, we celebrate Theodor Seuss Geisel’s birthday. Dr. Seuss, his pen name, wrote books that were fun and fantastical as well as those that offered poignant themes buried in entertaining story lines.

As one of the most widely celebrated and loved names in children’s literature, it’s no wonder his birthday also marks the National Read Across America Day.

To celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Day, pick up a book and read to yourself or to someone else.

And for closing thoughts, a few more of his quotes;

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.     – Dr. Seuss

Step with care and great tact, and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act.       – Dr. Seuss

Kid, you’ll move mountains.      – Dr. Seuss

Why fit in when you were born to stand out?     – Dr. Seuss

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.    – Dr. Seuss

If things start happening, don’t worry, don’t stew, just go right along and you’ll start happening too.    – Dr. Seuss

  1. Great post, Elsie, to a fantastic author and a very special day for booklovers. I was gratified to learn that Mr. Geisel was an introvert – one whose impact on the world was far-reaching and memorable.
